Households in Lichfield and Burntwood are being urged to make sure they don’t miss out on the chance to vote in next year’s European Parliament elections. Lichfield District Council is set to send out electoral registration forms to make sure the electoral register is up-to-date for the May 2014 poll. Diane Tilley, Electoral Registration Officer, said: “Registering to vote is quick and simple – all you need to do is respond to the annual canvass form as soon as possible with the details of everyone who lives in your household that are eligible to vote. “It is vital to play your part in the democratic process, and have your say at local, county, national and European elections. Without this registration you will not be eligible to do so – I encourage everyone to register as soon as you receive your form.” Residents who don’t receive a form can contact the elections team on 01543 308125 or print one off at www.aboutmyvote.co.uk.
