Around 30 women have been attending sessions in Beacon Park on Thursday evenings.

The Back to Netball scheme is designed to get women aged over 16 playing again with the help of qualified coaches.

Sports development officer Sarah Sleigh said: “The netball training is proving really popular with women of all ages enjoying rediscovering the sport and playing as a team.”

The sessions – which run from 7pm to 8pm – have now been extended to November 21, with a break for half-term on October 31.

Due to popular demand Back to Netball has been extended and will run until 21 November, with a break for autumn half term (31 October).

“If you haven’t come along yet but are keen to learn some basic skills, including passing and footwork, as well as playing a fun match, join us on Thursday evenings,” Sarah added.

The sessions are free for women aged from 16 to 25, with a charge of £2 per week for women aged over 25 years.
