Lichfield and Burntwood men get in touch with their feminine side for charity

Men all over Lichfield and Burntwood have been spotted trying on women’s shoes in the last few days!

Town Crier Ken Knowles is ‘kicking-off’ the event at 2pm outside the Guildhall in Bore Street and will be adding a stylish peach accessory to his usual regalia!

They’ve been seen struggling into stilettos, working their feet into wedges and squeezing into strappy sandals – but it’s all been for a good cause.

And folks can view their efforts in Lichfield city centre on Saturday (October 19) when they take on a charity walk.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a sponsored event in support of the Burntwood-based Pathway Project – a domestic abuse charity.

To help them walk in those high heels, men have been advised to ‘stand tall, shoulders back, chest out, back straight and bottoms tucked under’. Should be quite a sight in the city centre on Saturday!
