Appeal for witnesses after four are injured in Longdon A51 crash

Witnesses to a crash near Lichfield are being urged to come forward.

Four people were injured in the collision between a blue Ford Focus and a white Nissan Juke on the A51 at Longdon at 11.30am on Tuesday (November 12).

Sgt Richard Moors, investigating officer, said: “The road will have been busy with traffic at the time and I would appeal to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 286 of November 12.”

The 50-year-old male driver of the Nissan Juke was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for treatment to minor injuries. His 42-year-old female passenger was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where she is in a critical but stable condition.

A 70-year-old man driving the Focus was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for treatment to minor injuries. His 66-year-old female passenger was airlifted to the same hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition.

The road was closed for more than three hours after the crash.
