Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash near Lichfield which left a cyclist seriously injured. The collision happened at around 8.25am today (December 24) on the A513 at the junction with Overley Lane in Alrewas. A red Vauxhall Corsa and a bike were involved, with the 79-year-old man from Alrewas being taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire by air ambulance with serious injuries. Police say he is in a stable condition. The driver of the Vauxhall, a 34-year-old woman from Derbyshire, was uninjured. The road remained closed for around two hours while investigations were carried out. Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 119 of December 24.
