The funeral of the mascot of the Staffordshire Regimental Association has taken place.
More than 100 people gathered outside Burton Town Hall earlier this month to say farewell to Colour Sergeant Watchman IV.
The bull terrier had been the mascot of the Staffordshire Regiment, before being handed the same role with the Regimental Association, based at Whittington.
A spokesperson said: “From the start he was a special dog.
“He carried himself with quiet dignity and assurance and was so patient with the public, particularly children.”
Cllr David Leytham, chairman of Lichfield District Council, was among the dignitaries who attended the service for Watchman IV, who retired in 2009.
The dog joins the other Staffordshire Regiment bull terrier mascots buried outside Burton Town Hall.
