New appeal for witnesses to Alrewas crash which left cyclist injured

A fresh appeal has been launched to find witnesses to a crash near Lichfield which left a cyclist in hospital.

The bicycle and a red Vauxhall Corsa were involved in a collision at 8.25am on Christmas Eve on the A513 at the junction with Overley Lane in Alrewas.

The cyclist, a 79-year-old man from Alrewas, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire by air ambulance where he remains in a stable condition.

The 34-year-old female driver of the Vauxhall, from Derbyshire, was uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or can offer any information, is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 119 of December 24.
