Lichfield MP blasts ‘unelected arrogant fools’ after Lords EU vote

Lichfield’s MP has said he is “totally pissed off” after a vote against an EU referendum.

He described members of the Lords as “unelected arrogant fools against democracy” after they opted not to spend more time debating the proposal.

The EU referendum plan saw 122 Labour Lords and 48 Lib Dem Lords vote against it – prompting Michael Fabricant’s online backlash.

“Totally pissed off with the Lords who voted against an EU Referendum,” he wrote on Twitter. “Unelected arrogant fools against democracy.”

“Labour and Lib Dems in the House of Lords who voted against an EU referendum know they aren’t answerable to the electorate.”

A volunteer wrote this. Say thanks with a coffee.

Hilariously childish tantrum from an elected, arrogant fool.

Doubly ironic, since his government has created more lords than any previous.

Nice to see the member arguing for an elected upper house though.

More wonderful parliamentary language from the Clown Prince of Twankers.
It is almost as if he doesn’t realise his comments on Twitter are public in the same way as they would be in other forms of print or on TV and radio. Or maybe he does and if so that makes it even more unfathomable.

Not exactly an honourable turn of phrase.
Does he expect to be taken seriously with such an approach?

I guess he’s trying to be a man of the people. But it is the type of people that have helped ensure the standards of political debate and above all standard of our politicians has dropped off so dramatically over the last decade or more.

With such a base turn of phrase and approach he doesn’t deserve the privilege of such a massive majority. His constituency certainly deserves far better.

This time our MP has put his foot in it good and proper, no doubt he will be called in and be given a good telling off. Or could it be that our Mr Fabricant is going to start his own new breakaway party.
