
A driver was had a lucky escape over the weekend after a car crashed into a tree near Lichfield.
Ambulance crews were called to Planation Lane, Hopwas, near Tamworth at just after 2am on Sunday (February 2).
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews treated a man in his thirties after his vehicle left the road and collided with a tree.
“The vehicle received significant damage and the patient was trapped for over an hour before being released by the emergency services.
“The patient was treated for back pain but otherwise he appears to have escaped serious injury.
“The patient was conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
