Jess said: “I’m a trained teacher, having taught food and textiles at secondary schools, and a long time craft lover who has been making for as long as I can remember.

“The first workshops will be one-offs, teaching a new skill at each one. In the coming months I hope to be able to run regular Saturday afternoon sessions and holiday clubs.”

The March 22 session will run from 1pm to 3pm at the Scout Hall on The Leasowe in Lichfield. Workshops cost £8 and all materials, a drink and a biscuit are included.

Jess added: “The first workshop will be to create a piece of textile art based on animals. This will be a fabulous introduction to textiles as well as developing any skills that your child may have.

“It encourages creativity in the way that fabric and other materials can be used and combines basic pattern cutting, simple stitching, using fabric pens to create a fantastic piece of textile art to take home.”
