Burntwood Town FC facing basement battle with Inkberrow

Burntwood Town FC’s return to competitive action will be a big one as they face a crunch bottom of the table battle.

Bill Aiton’s men will host Inkberrow on Saturday (March 1) knowing that defeat would move the visitors to within two points of them.

Town lie bottom-but-one in the Midland Football Combination Division Two with a mere nine points from their first 16 league encounters. Inkberrow prop up the table with four points from 19 games.

But with some teams in the table having played six more games than Burntwood, they will be desperate to kickstart their season after a lengthy break.

They have not played a league game in 2014, with a cup game in January their only action of the year so far.

Kick-off at Burntwood Leisure Centre is at 3pm.
