Lichfield firefighters set for charity car wash event

Lichfield firefighters will be cleaning cars to raise money for charity this weekend.

Drivers are invited to go along for a spring clean on Saturday (March 15) in return for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity and Action Against Hunger.

Firefighters will be joined by cadets for the event, which runs from 10am to 4pm at Lichfield Fire Station.

Francine Heggie, from Action Against Hunger, said: “We are delighted that the fire service cadets in Lichfield are supporting our fundraising efforts.

“There is enough food in the world for everyone, but every single day 8,000 children die of hunger related causes.

“By taking part in the car wash, the cadets will raise vital funds for Action Against Hunger’s lifesaving work in over 45 countries and take us a step closer to seeing an end to child hunger in our lifetime.”
