Lichfield’s Shakespeare in the Park has announced its June production will be Romeo and Juliet.
Budding thespians and helpers for all areas of the production are invited to an open meeting at the George Hotel, Lichfield on April 6 at 10.30am.
This is an opportunity to meet the director and hear his plans for this year’s show and also to talk to members of the committee about how the show is put together.
This year the director is David Stonehouse, well known for performing in and directing previous productions with the group.
Auditions will then be held on Sunday April 13 at the George Hotel. Audition pieces will be available at the open meeting.
The production will run at Maple Hayes Italianate Gardens, in Abnalls Lane, Lichfield, from June 18 to 21.
Shakespeare in the Park is an established event in the Lichfield calendar and all profits are ploughed back into the local community.
Last year’s production was the Tempest. The company performs for one week each year as it has done now for over 30 years.
