A fundraising group in Lichfield are celebrating after turning £33 into more than £1,000 for charity.
The members of Lichfield Ladies Circle joined the President’s Pound Project for Birmingham Children;s Hospital.

Each of the 33 group members were given £1 and asked to make whatever they could with it – leading to a range of imaginative ideas, including cake sales, cocktail sales and car boot events.
They eventually raised a total of £1,118.74.
Jodie Raphael, who works at Hellmanns Logistics, raised the largest amount (£200) through sponsoring her boss £1 to dress down for the day and inviting her colleagues to pay £1 to support him.
Sue Jay, Lichfield Ladies Circle president and chair of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charities, was overwhelmed by the efforts. She said: “The ladies are all truly amazing and I am still in shock at how much you raised.
“I cannot begin to thank them enough. This amount of money can make a difference for such a worthy cause.”
