Runners will be going through their final preparations for the Lichfield Half Marathon.
The 2013 race was won by Daniel Allinson and around 1,300 participants will be tackling the course from 10.30am on Sunday (May 4).
The junior mini-marathon will take place on Stowe Field at 11am, while the adult runners are making their way from King Edward VI School before travelling through Whittington and Fradley. They will then head back into the city via Eastern Avenue prior to a finish under the gaze of the Cathedral on Stowe Field from around 11.40am.
A spokesperson for organisers KP Events said: “This event pulls in hundreds of visitors to the city on the Bank Holiday and shops and businesses are geared for the extra people who will be in the city.”
Drivers are being warned to prepare for some road closures while the race is taking place.
