Plans for seven new homes on the site of a former concrete works in Burntwood have been approved.
Land at Chorley Road has finally been given the go-ahead for redevelopment after the fail of previous applications in 2005 and 2007.
In a statement supporting their plans, the developers said the new use of the land would be an improvement for the local area.
“The replacement of the existing incongruous concrete manufacturing plant and its attendant external storage of vehicles, plant and machinery with a modest residential development of a design of the highest order, would be in keeping with its rural location,” they said.
“It would constitute a significant improvement to the openness of the Green Belt.
“The proposed development would therefore result in less traffic, less activity and less car parking.”
