St Giles Hospice seeking new Trustees

Whittington-based charity St Giles Hospice is offering people the opportunity to play a key role in its future by joining the Board of Trustees.

Up to four new Trustees are being sought as the charity continues to expand its support and care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Trustees serve the charity on a voluntary basis and are not required to have any specific qualifications. However, experience in business, research, nursing or general practice would be beneficial.

St Giles Hospice Chairman of Trustees Simon James said: “As Trustees, we play a vital and significant role in the ongoing development of the charity. We take responsibility for the charity’s strategic direction, while day-to-day operation is delegated to the Group Chief Executive and Management Team.

“This is a particularly exciting time for volunteers with experience in the business, research or clinical sectors to come on board, as we continue to see increasing demand for our services across the catchment area.

“Steering a multi-million-pound charitable organisation like St Giles Hospice is uniquely stimulating and challenging, and we would welcome applications from anyone in the local community who thinks they can help us in our mission to deliver the highest possible levels of care to those who rely on our services.”
