A Lichfield school is celebrating a double success after the GCSE results were released.
In the wake of strong results at A-Level, Lichfield Cathedral School has now enjoyed a bumper set of GCSE grades.
Headmaster David Corran said: “I am thrilled that once again our students have maintained a 100 per cent pass rate and that 80 per cent of students achieved at least five GCSEs at A*-C.
“Given that we do not select on the basis of academic ability, these results are a fitting tribute to the students who have achieved exceptional grades, but also to the students who have done as well as they possibly could.
“This level of success is due to three main factors: parents committed to providing the right level and type of support, a dedicated and highly professional staff who got the best out of the year group and students focused on exceeding expectations.”
