The number of people without a job in Lichfield and Burntwood has fallen.

New figures reveal that in the Lichfield Parliamentary Constituency show that the unemployment rate for people aged 16 to 64 stands at 1.1%.

“This is testimony to the skill and education of local people and to the development plans of Lichfield District Council,” said Michael Fabricant MP.

“A figure as low as 1.1% signifies virtually no unemployment as around 1% of the population are generally unemployed in between changing jobs.”
