Two goals from debutant Lee Osborne were enough to earn a point for ten men Lichfield City FC against Pilkington XXX.
The Brownsfield Park surface survived a downpour, but the conditions were tough as Danny Worrall went close to opening the scoring for the hosts.
Osborne then went close before finally opening his account and the scoring five minutes before the break.
But Pilkington pulled level before going in front after Lichfield defender Jon Huckfield was given a red card.
However, City’s fighting spirit was on show as Osborne levelled things with his second of the game.
And it could have got even better for the debutant when he sent a free header just wide of the upright.
Pilkington lost their numerical advantage after seeing one of their own ranks red carded for a second yellow, but neither side could find another breakthrough and both were forced to settle for a point.
