A former professional footballer is helping youngsters pass their physics exams after publishing a new textbook.
Brian Mills was at Port Vale and played for the England under-19 side before his career was ended by injury aged just 20.
He retrained as a teacher and is head of physics at John Taylor High School in Barton.
But the football-turned-teacher has now added another string to his bow by becoming the author of a new textbook – Physics calculations for GCSE and IGCSE.
“The book is intended to improve physics education,” Brian said. “But it’s not just about helping students to be successful in exams, it is also about making them better physicists and improving their skills.”
Brian, who lives near Lichfield, hopes his new work will inspire youngsters to continue studying the subject in higher education.
“I am confident the book will help improve their problem solving skills, independent thinking, mathematical skills and deeping their understanding to ease transition from GCSE to A Level should they choose to study the subject at a higher level.”
Brian’s book is available on Amazon for £7.99.
