Chasetown made loan striker Paul Sullivan skipper for his last game of his spell and he duly notched twice to score his 12th goal in 12 games and in a record seventh consecutive match.
Sheffield missed a couple of absolute sitters early on and were made to pay for those chances when Sullivan opened the scoring in the 19th minute when his shot took a deflection off the defender and looped over the head of goalkeeper Jake Eastwood.
Sheffield were the better side in the first half and deservedly levelled four minutes later through James Gregory.
The visitors hung in though and regained the lead against the run of play when Danny Edwards crossed from the left and the ball found its way to Nathan Waite who nipped in ahead of the defender and finished powerfully.
Marcus Law’s men were dominant after the break and Sullivan added his second with a low drilled shot which nestled perfectly in the bottom corner of Eastwood’s net.

Waite then picked up the ball inside the box and with only one thing on his mind, smashed the ball beyond Eastwood at his near post, to add his 20th goal of the season to make it 4-1, with the Scholars fans behind the goal screaming for Waite to square the ball for Sullivan to net his hat trick into an empty net.
Substitute Liam Bryan reduced the deficit to two goals and might have given Chasetown a mini-scare. But, it wasn’t long before a long drop kick from John Bateman had Jamie Hadfield struggling under pressure from substitute Nick Turton who diverted the ball past his own goalkeeper.
Turton also hit the crossbar for Chasetown as the visitors were rampant.
Richard Davies wrapped up a 6-goal performance in the final minute with the hosts well beaten – the first time Chasetown have scored six or more away from home since September 2009.
