Croxall Lakes Nature Reserve will welcome visitors for a Dawn Chorus Walk from 6am to 8am on May 4.

The event is being organised by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.

Spokeswoman Cathy Taylor said: “Getting out into nature first thing in the morning is a fantastic way to start your day.

“We are now in the middle of the arrival season for our summer migrant species so who knows which birds will turn up to serenade us with song on this spring morning.”

Cathy added that wetland birds which might be spotted during the event at Croxall include oystercatchers and little ringed plover.

The event is free to attend for Lichfield district residents – anyone interested in attending can call 01889 880100 or email info@staffs-wildlife.org.uk. Cost for non-residents is £5 and can be booked online.
