The event, on May 16, will support Violets in Bloom, which was set up following the death of Violet Mornington.

The five-year-old had just finished her first year at St Stephen’s School in Fradley in 2013 when she lost her life to a rare blood disorder.

Violets in Bloom has already raised more than £20,000 for the Histio Research Trust and Birmingham Childrens Hospital and has now begun collecting money to build a memorial garden for children.

The comedy night is the latest fundraising drive and will feature Matt Price, Simon King, Jay Cowle and Svetlana the oligarch’s wife.

Doors open at 7.30pm at Shenstone Village Hall and visitors can bring their own drinks and snacks. Tickets are £12 and can be booked online or by emailing info@violetsinbloom.org.
