The new Hawksyard play area

A new playground has been created in Armitage.

The area at the centre of the Hawksyard housing estate features a roundabout, balancing bridge, climbing frame, swings and slides, a seesaw and a dedicated junior play zone.

Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s cabinet member for leisure, said: “I am thrilled that the Hawksyard play area is now open for the local community to enjoy.

“I am sure it will become a great place for residents to meet their neighbours and for children to make new friends and have fun.

“We still have some final finishing touches to make to the area, however, we know local children have been eager to start using the playground, so have opened it as soon as we could.”
