A community-led Burntwood group has confirmed it is to close.

Forward Action Burntwood (FAB) will end in July, the Trustees have said.

The organisation has previously held events aimed at boosting the town’s sense of community.

But in a post on Facebook the group confirmed it will fold on July 3.

“Since Forward Action Burntwood began we have had an absolute blast and achieved so much more than we ever thought possible,” a spokesperson said. “But all good things must come to an end.”

FAB has been behind events such as the Christmas lantern parade, as well as hosting charity fundraisers.

The trustees said that while the end of the group was a sad occasion, they added that their commitment to the community in Burntwood would not finish.

The spokesperson added: “On behalf of our trustees old and new, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has supported us over the years. We would not have achieved anywhere near as much as we have had it not been for your support.

“Many of us trustees will continue to be involved in the community in some way, shape or form.”
