Brown has been a regular for the Scholars since signing from Worcester City in August 2012.

The former Mansfield wideman was also a regular penalty taker last season, so Chasetown will be happy he has signed on again for another season.

Edwards also played a pivotal part last season, making 52 appearances and scoring five goals.

New boss Dave Stringer will be hoping the midfielder can chip in with more goals next season as he bids to build a promotion-chasing side.

Chasetown’s pre-season got off to a flying start as Paul Sullivan marked his return to the club with the opening goal after 11 minutes.

Studley then equalised after a rare error from goalkeeper John Bateman, before the Scholars restored the lead thanks to a tap in from new signing Justin Marsden after great work down the flank from Jonathan Gould.

It was soon 3-1 when Sullivan showed exactly why Stringer brought him back from Hednesford Town as he struck the ball past the keeper into the far corner of the net.

Danny Griffiths and Nathan Waite struck in quick succession to make it 5-1, before another debutant – Lewis Rankin – topped things off with a confident strike.
