Lichfield Garrick Youth Theatre has always been known as a company providing first class training for young people in the region – that so many members have gone on to work in professional theatre is proof that this early artistic experience has paid dividends.

And at least 27 past members are joining the current performers to celebrate the company’s 30th Anniversary.

A concert at the Lichfield Garrick will feature a cast of 50, plus an on-stage orchestra.

Chairman and musical director Oliver Rowe said: “There are still a few tickets left for what is set to be a fantastic showcase of Lichfield Garrick Youth Theatre’s past, present and, most importantly, future.”

Oliver himself will hand over his MD’s baton to perform in a couple of numbers from West Side Story.

Former members coming back to help celebrate the anniversary include Alex Wadham (currently touring the UK in The MouseTrap), Toby-Alexander Smith (currently appearing in the West End’s Mama Mia), Sam Buttery (finalist on BBC’s The Voice and recently starred as Leigh Bowery in the revival of Boy George’s musical Taboo) and Katie Kerr (recently finished in the UK Tour of Wicked and ENO’s Sweeney Todd staring Emma Thompson). Katie has just been cast in a new production of Kiss Me Kate.

Tickets for the July 26 concert are £20 circle and £25 stalls. Call the Garrick box office on 01543 412121 or book online. Proceeds will support future LGYT productions.
