Shenstone Pathfinder finished their pre-season campagin with a 1-0 victory over Parkfield Amateurs.

The fixture gave first team boss Chris Whitehouse and reserve team chief Paul Merrick the chance to blend their squads.

In the first half, a new-look formation saw Paths create the best opening as club captain Alex Leonard rattled the post.

Both sides made changes at the break and returning Shenstone keeper John Miller was forced to make two good saves to keep the scores level.

The deadlock was finally broken on 72 minutes when substitute Daniels switched the play to Bell in the wide right position. He played in Finkle, who rounded the goalkeeper and squared the ball from a tight angle across the face of goal for sub Josh Haston to net.

The result means Shenstone collected three wins, a draw and a defeat from their pre-season fixtures.

They now go into the opening day of the West Midlands Regional League Division One on Saturday (August 8) with a home game against Ludlow, kick-off 3pm.
