Shenstone Pathfinder paid the price for defensive errors as they went down 2-0 at FC Stafford.

The visitors were left wondering what might have been after spurning good chances and being punished at the other end.

Paths started brightly and saw Matt Jones’ effort strike the crossbar with just 50 seconds on the clock.

But it was Stafford who broke the deadlock after 10 minutes when a corner was scrambled home.

Shenstone stopper Prince saved a penalty before Jones failed to find the target as Paths went in search of a leveller.

The visitors had the perfect chance to equalise when Finkle was felled in the box, but captain Leonard saw his spot kick saved.

Shenstone continued to search for a goal in the second half, but their efforts were killed off when Stafford doubled their lead ten minutes from time when poor marking was exploited.
