Two lorry drivers have been injured in a crash on the A38 in Lichfield.

It happened at 3.20am on the A38 Northbound at Weeford.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find two HGVs that had been in a serious collision.

“The driver of one vehicle, a man believed to be in his 60’s, suffered serious arm and abdominal injuries.

“The man was treated at the scene by ambulance medics and his condition was stabilised.  Following treatment the man was transferred to Walsall Manor Hospital for further treatment.

“The man driving the second lorry suffered a minor head injury and received treatment at the scene by medics.  He did not require further treatment and was discharged.”
