A motorcyclist has suffered a badly broken leg after being flung 10 metres after a crash in Burntwood.

The incident happened near to Burntwood Rugby Club’s Sportsway ground at 11.30am this morning (September 26).

The rider was found a distance from where his bike had collided with a car.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When the original ambulance crew arrived they found a man who had a badly broken right leg.

“Fortunately, the 33-year-old had been wearing full leathers and a crash helmet which had reduced other injuries given how far he ended up from his bike.

“The ambulance crew immobilised the rider and applied a splint to his leg. He was then taken by land ambulance to Walsall Manor Hospital.

“The woman in her 60s who was driving the car was very shaken by what had happened. However, after treatment, she recovered enough not to need hospital treatment.”
