Lichfield City FC failed to upset the odds as they went down 4-2 at Rocester.

Martin Crawford and Tom Evans were both on target for Gary Birch’s men, but it wasn’t enough in the Polymac Packaging League Cup.

City will look to take the positives from a match where they were not outclassed by opposition from a higher division.

They return to action on Saturday (October 17) when they travel to Atherstone Town.

Meanwhile, Lichfield have been handed a trip to Bilston Town in the second round of the Staffordshire FA Vase.
