A report has backed plans for 14 new homes on the site where a garage once stood in Burntwood.
Developers hope to build six three-bedroom and eight two-bedroom properties on land at Queen Street previously used by Acorn Garage.
Burntwood Town Council had backed the plans put to Lichfield District Council due to the need for new homes in the area, although there had been some concerns from local residents about the impact on traffic, homes and nearby businesses.
But the report has recommended approving the scheme.
It said: “The principle of residential development on this site is considered to be acceptable, as it comprises a brownfield site lying within the sustainable settlement of Burntwood.
“The development would not have an adverse impact upon the character or appearance of the surrounding area, nor materially affect the amenity of neighbouring residents or prejudice highway safety.”
Councillors will have their say on the plan and report at a meeting of Lichfield District Council’s planning committee on November 2.
Must have been a large garage.
