Bad weather failed to dampen the spirits as more than a hundred people took part in art workshops in Lichfield city centre.

The event saw locals take part in The Big Draw – the world’s biggest festival dedicated to drawing.

Two artists offered activities at Lichfield’s Three Spires Shopping Centre and another was stationed at Speakers’ Corner on Dam Street.

Councillor Helen Fisher said: “In spite of the rain the workshops were still really popular with lots of people getting involved and creating some really lovely pieces.

“It’s so important that people experience art and so this event was a great way for everyone to think creatively and have a go.”
