People are being invited to try a game of walking football in Burntwood. The sessions – led by an FA qualified coach – take place on Tuesday afternoons at the town’s leisure centre. Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, said: “Taking part is a great way to meet others, stay active and play a team sport at a more moderate pace. “Although aimed at people over 50, anyone can get involved and play as it’s a fantastic way for beginners to exercise to start building up their stamina.” The session run on Tuesdays from 1pm to 2pm and cost £2.50.
