A report has backed plans to build three new homes on land in Armitage.

The land at Hood Lane has been earmarked for the creation of the new properties.

But Armitage with Handsacre Parish Council had raised objections, claiming “too many dwellings are being considered”.

There were also objections from local residents.

But a report to a meeting of Lichfield District Council’s planning committee next week has recommended giving the development the green light.

A planning officer’s report said: “I note the neighbours’ concerns over devaluation of neighbouring properties and concerns over land stability due to the deteriorating state of a retaining wall. However, I do not consider these to be material planning considerations in the determination of this application.

“I consider that the proposal represents an appropriate form of development in this location.”
