Lichfield Ladies are one game away from the final of the Women’s Premiership Final.

They take on Saracens in the semi-final of the competition, knowing that victory would see them through to a game against Richmond or Worcester set to be screened live on Sky Sports.

But they will first need to see off their opponents in the final four this weekend.

Becky Williams, Director of Women’s Rugby at Lichfield Ladies, said: “We go into the semi-final full of confidence, having played particularly well in the latter part of the league season, finishing in our highest ever league position.

“We are under no illusion that Saracens will be formidable opponents, but they also know that we are a very good team and that they will need to play well to beat us.”

The prospect of reaching the final is tantalising enough for Lichfield but the chance to appear live TV brings an added incentive.

“First and foremost this is a fantastic development for women’s rugby with the first ever live broadcast of an English women’s club game,” Becky added. “It will allow us the opportunity to showcase all that is best about the game that we love.

“It will come down to which team delivers on the day and we are confident that we have a team that can do that.

“We would love to get to the final for the live game.”

Lichfield’s semi-final will be played at Saracens Allianz Park on Sunday (January 10), kick off 3.30pm.
