Lichfield District Council has apologised after “teething problems” with a new fleet of vehicles caused delays to bin collections.
Residents across Lichfield and Burntwood have seen delays since the roll-out of the new refuse and recycling trucks.
Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet Member for Waste Management at Lichfield District Council, said te local authority was working to get collections back to normal as soon as possible.
“Unfortunately we’ve had some teething problems since we rolled out the new fleet of collection vehicles on February 10,” he said.
“We’re working with our fleet provider to make sure we get our collections back on track as soon as possible.
“I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone who has had the inconvenience of a missed bin or a delay in their bins being emptied.
“We’re working hard to resolve this, and in the long term the new trucks will make our service more efficient and help to reduce the cost of the Shared Waste Service.”
