A new toy store will open in Lichfield this weekend.

The Entertainer throws open its doors on Saturday (February 27) in the Three Spires Shopping Centre.

As well as the ribbon cutting ceremony, there will also be a special trolley dash in aid of St Giles Hospice.

Aaron Coleman, from St Giles Hospice, said: “We really do appreciate the support we get from local businesses as it all helps St Giles to continue delivering high quality care to the local community.

“It is great to have the opportunity to involve children who have received support from our bereavement service Phoenix at St Giles involved in the opening of The Entertainer in Lichfield.”

The Lichfield branch will create nine jobs and be one of more than 100 operated by the company across the UK.

The Entertainer’s managing director Gary Grant said the city was a natural choice for their latest shop.

“The Three Spires shopping centre itself continues to offer a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more choice on the high street and within shopping centres,” he said.

“We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Lichfield.”
