A new book on the Staffordshire Hoard has gone on sale in Lichfield.
Robert Sharp’s The Hoard and its History: Staffordshire’s Secrets Revealed is published by Brewin Books and attempts to understand why the collection of Anglo-Saxon gold came to be buried in a field in Hammerwich.
A spokesperson said: “It brings together archaeology, local history, Saxon beliefs and historical events to provide a possible reason.”
The book is available at St Mary’s in the Market Square and costs £14.95.
