A review of senior management at Lichfield District Council will help create a more “corporate” organisation.

The local authority is consulting over plans to revamp the top three tiers of its management.

It has estimated that redundancy costs could total around £500,000 if the plans go ahead.

But Cllr Mike Wilcox, leader of Lichfield District Council, said it was important for the local authority to reorganise.

“This management review has been undertaken to create a corporate council,” he said.

“We need to create a council with a stronger, more pro-active leadership to deal with the challenging situations ahead.”

  1. Corporate organisation?? Really? And The Council Leader is involved? Wow, have I woken up in a parallel universe? LDC needs to demonstrate some professionalism among the councillors and ensure council workers are looked after and decently rewarded.
