Lichfield City FC’s miserable run of form continued with a 4-0 home defeat against Hinckley.

The result means Gary Birch’s men have picked up just one point from their last four outings, conceding 13 goals in those games and scoring just three.

City did start brightly against Hinckley, created some early opportunities.

But it was Hinckley who came close to opening the scoring after seeing an effort come back off the bar.

Tony Clarke went close to netting for Lichfield after 20 minutes, before the visitors struck the woodwork again.

Hinckley were awarded a penalty after 25 minutes and Ryan Seal made the breakthrough from the spot.

Dave Yonwin went close to netting an equaliser as Lichfield went in for half-time a goal down.

The second period started as the first had with a bright spell of possession from City.

But again Hinckley landed the heavy blow as Javia Roberts doubled his side’s advantage.

Sub Isaac Cooper netted Hinckley’s third in the dying moments before they were handed another penalty deep into stoppage time. Seal again stepped up to find the net and condemn Lichfield to another defeat.

City head to Pilkington XXX on Saturday (April 2) hoping to end a run which has seen them slip to sixth in the Midland Football League Division One table.
