An opportunity to play competitive tennis is being served up in Lichfield and Burntwood.

A new league is being created for men and women of all abilities aged over 18.

The competition will take place see players in groups of six to eight people of similar skill levels who play matches at mutually convenient times over an eight week period.

A spokesperson for the Lichfield and Burntwood Tennis League said: “If you are not a member of a tennis club, it can be surprisingly hard to compete at an informal local level or even to find other players to play.

“With no annual membership to worry about, and only court fees to pay if applicable, the league is an affordable way to play friendly, competitive tennis.

“There are prizes for the winners of each group and a free can of tennis balls for all players who complete three matches by the midway point of a round.”

The league launches on April 21. For more details and to sign up visit www.localtennisleagues.com/lichfield.
