Young people in Lichfield will soon be able to take up free boxing sessions.
The Box Clever Coaching Academy – run by former world middleweight champion Wayne Elcock – will run the training programme which starts on May 20.
Wade Street Church will be the venue for the weekly training programme, which runs from 7.45pm to 8.45pm.
Councillor Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet member for leisure and parks, said: “Thanks to the grant from the Proceeds of Crime Fund, we’re delighted to be expanding the Positive Futures programme in Lichfield and to launch these boxing sessions.
“We hope plenty of young people across the city will come along and try it out.”
The sessions are for people aged between 14 and 19 and there is no need to book.
