Lichfield District Council will provide litter pickers and bin bags, and will be collecting any waste afterwards.

Councillor Iain Eadie, Cabinet member for waste management, said: “Community clean-ups are such a great way for local people to come together to look after their local environment.

“We’re happy to help communities with their events, by loaning equipment and removing all the collected waste, and hope many more groups will contact us to help get them started.”

The litter pick will take placebetween 10am and 2pm. The group will meet at Darwin Hall at 10am. Equipment will be provided, but participants should bring gardening gloves and wear sensible shoes. To confirm your place email
