Sankey’s Corner was transformed into a race track as hundreds turned out for the second running of the Burntwood push kart derby.

Teams had created their unpowered vehicles from scratch for the day. Winning designs were chosen in a number of categories, with the overall winner’s trophy going to Team Helmets. Other victors were:
  • Speed demons: Wolf Pack
  • Best dressed kart: Burntwood Road Sweepers
  • Best crash: Rawlings Tyres
Kevin Wilson, of organisers KP Events, said: “The weather wasn’t great, but the crowds were brilliant. “The teams really joined in the fun and gave them some brilliant action and, above all, everyone involved really bought into what we were trying to do – provide free entertainment on a summer afternoon in Burntwood.” More photographs can be found at and via the KP Events Facebook page.
