A man has been arrested after cannabis worth £100,000 was found in a vehicle near Burntwood.

Police stopped a white Vauxhall Vivaro van on the M6 Toll between junctions T5 and T6 at around 2.15pm yesterday (August 9).

The vehicle was searched with officers seizing what police described as a “significant amount” of cannabis.

James Conor Davis, 23, from Heaton Street in the Prestwich area of Manchester, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of Possession With Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug (Class B, cannabis).

He will appear before Cannock Magistrates Court today.

The van was also uninsured and has been seized. Davis was also charged with using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance.
