Lichfield City FC maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 triumph over Uttoxeter Town.

Dave Langston’s men were desperate to return to winning ways after Saturday’s draw with Stafford Town.

Tom Marshall gave City a first half lead, while Lewis Bourne went close to a second only to see his effort come back off the woodwork.

Lichfield extended their lead in the second half through Ben Lund, only to see Uttoxeter pull one back via Martin Gadsby.

But City held on to make it five games unbeaten in the Midland Football League Division One – and put them joint top with fellow early season pacesetters Bromsgrove Sporting.
