Tickets have gone on sale for the new season at the Lichfield Garrick.

Music, comedy, theatre and dance acts will all help make up the 2016 autumn and winter schedule at the city theatre.

Crimes Against Christmas

A show co-produced by the Garrick for adults will be staged at the Garrick during the festive season. Crimes Against Christmas will run a the theatre from December 9 to 31.

Younger visitors will also be able to see Rod Campbell’s best-selling children’s book brought to life when Dear Santa comes to the city from December 31 to 24.

There will also be the popular Garrick panto from December 1 to 31. This year’s production of Sleeping Beauty will feature Cbeebies favourite Rebecca Keatley as Fairy Moonbeam, Sam Rabone as Nurse Nellie, Ian Billings as the King and Ben Thornton as Jangles.

Perrier Award winner Scott Capurro will bring the laughs to the Christmas Comedy 42 special on December 15.

Tim Ford, Artistic Director at the Lichfield Garrick, said: “Christmas is our favourite time of year and we’re delighted to offer the biggest ever choice of festive shows for our local audiences.

“We’re really excited to be working with New Old Friends to produce our first ‘anti-panto’, Crimes Against Christmas offering a hilarious alternative night out for grown-ups, alongside family favourites, Sleeping Beauty and Dear Santa.”

Further season highlights include a music from the likes of Clare Teal and the BBC Big Band. Foster and Allen and the stars of 1980s supergroup, Bucks Fizz, also stop off in Lichfield as part of their UK tours.

After the phenomenal success of the Balletboyz, internationally acclaimed dance company, Ballet Black make their Lichfield debut with Triple Bill featuring Storyville, set in 1920s New Orleans.

The Garrick Introducing programme also returns with The Unknown Soldier, a moving portrayal of one soldier’s story at the end of WW1 presented by Grist To The Mill.

Other highlights inlcude Alfie White: Space Explorer, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Jenny Eclair, The Top Ten Beatles, Into The Shadows and Let’s Twist Again.
